GRAND RAPIDS Mich.- The Calvin Knights ACHA Division 1 men's hockey team defeated the University of Toledo 8-3 on Friday night, November 10. The Knights are now 11-4 on the year.

Kyle Vandusen was the first man on the ice to score. He scored with 12:32 left in the 1st period and was assisted by Ethan Pool, to put Calvin up 1-0. Joel Dieleman was assisted by Krzysztof Petryla and Justin Davis with 7:45 left in the 1st period. The period came to a close with the Knights up 2-0.

The 2nd period was packed with action, Calvin scored 6 goals, and Toledo had 1. Jacob Siebenga scored a hat trick, and Steven Ickes, Ethan Pool, and Joel Fonovic all lit the lamp. Nick Messier had the only goal for Toledo in the 2nd period. The Knights ended the 2nd period with an 8-1 lead over Toledo.

Nick Messier scored his 2nd of the game for Toledo with 17:26 left in the game. He was assisted by Dante Pellegrino. Toledo scored their final goal of the game with 3:30 remaining in the game. Jack Forynski scored from Nate Brown and Nick Liebaj.
