GRAND RAPIDS Mich.- The Calvin ACHA D1 men's hockey team won 5-0 against Oakland University on Saturday night, October 28th at home. The Knights are now 9-3 overall.
 
Steven Ickes scored a minute into the game for the Knights, and 
Joel Dieleman scored with 9:33 left in the first period off an assist from Ickes, to give Calvin a 2-0 lead. The Knights defense held Oakland to just 4 shots on goal during the entire period.
 
Quentin Stempfel scored with 14:07 left in the 2nd period off an assist from 
Ethan Best to put the Knights up 3-0. Oakland was held to just four shots on goal again in the 2nd period, to Calvin's 31. 
 
Ayden Ademic scored Calvins 4th goal of the game from 
Steven Ickes and Keith Shenkel with 11:45 left in the game. 
Lou Vesperini knocked in Calvins final goal of the game with just over 5 minutes left. 
Joshua Tak and Dieleman picked up assists on the play. Oakland was held to just 2 shots on goal in the third period, and Calvin had 25 on target.

NEXT UP: Calvin takes on Purdue University Northwest on Friday, November 3 at 8:30 p.m. The game will be hosted by Calvin at the Eagles Ice arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
