GRAND RAPIDS Mich.- The Calvin ACHA Division 1 men's hockey team lost 4-2 to the 20th ranked University of Utah at home on Saturday night October 14. The 10th ranked Knights are now 6-2 on the season.

The Knights started off well, scoring with 13:58 left in the 1st period.
Noah Kramps scored and was assisted by
Adam Heard and
Ethan Pool. Just like their performance on Friday night the Knights held Utah scoreless in the 1st period. Calvin ended the 1st period up 1-0.

Calvin went up 2-0 early in the 2nd period when Krzysztof Pertryla scored with 15:45 left in the 2nd assisted by
Ethan Best. Utah's scoreless performance ended in the 2nd. A minute after Petrylas' goal the Utes struck back. Michael Vetis scored a solo goal to cut Calvin's lead in half. Utah's Jake Laurila scored the equalizer with 12:46 left in the 2nd. The period would end at 2 apiece.

Utah took a late lead with 3:43 left in the 3rd period when Benji Mickel was assisted by Che Landikusic. The duo connected again with an added assist from Joey Greilich, to take a 2-goal lead with just 12 seconds left and secure a 4-2 Utah win.

Mike Petrusma-"Give Utah a ton of credit. They had a good bounce back game. We shot ourselves in the foot too many times in this game. We have a short week to get ready for a big game against GVSU."

NEXT UP: Calvin takes on nationally-ranked Grand Valley State University on Thursday October 19th at 8:30 PM. The Game will be hosted by Grand Valley and will be in Allendale Michigan.
