GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Calvin ACHA Division 1 men's hockey team finished its series with Adrian College on Saturday night, losing 5-0. The Knights season record fell to 14-6-3.
Adrian wasted no time, going up 2-0 in the first period. Sam Spaedt scored for the Bulldogs with 12:38 remaining in the period and Matteo DiGiulio added another with 7:01 remaining. Calvin couldn't get much offense going in the first, only getting 5 shots on goal.
The second period wasn't much different from the first, with two goals being scored by Adrian, both with a power play advantage. Dakota Bohn and Connor Smith were the goal scorers for Adrian.
The Adrian defense once again held strong, limiting Calvin to only 7 shots on goal.
Going up 4-0 into the third period, Adrian kept its foot on the pedal. Brenden Stanko became the 5
th goal scorer of the game for the Bulldogs, putting them up 5-0 with 4:21 remaining. The Knights were again held scoreless, with only 8 shots on goal.
Carlos Siso was in goal for the Knights and had a busy night, saving 43 of 48 shots on goal. Calvin was outshot 48-20 in the game.
