The Calvin University Knights ACHA D1 Hockey Team defeated the Eastern Michigan Eagles 8-1 on Thursday night.
In the first period the Knights got on the board first with a goal just two minutes in which came from Kyle VanDusen with the assist from Jacob Siebenga. Just a minute later the Eagles tied the game and brought us back to square one.
After the first period the game was tied 1-1. The Knights outshot the Eagles 13-12.
In the second period the Knights got the only goal of the frame which came from Josh Ernst.
After the second period the Knights were leading the Eagles 2-1. The Kngihts outshot the Eagles 12-9.
In the third period the Knights got on the board just three minutes in with a second goal from VanDusen with the assist from Ernst. Just a minute later the Knights got a goal from Chris Bebelos with the assist from Maverick Baxtrom. Minutes later Siebenga found the back of the net with the assists from Ethan Bock and Ernst. The Knights kept up the pressure and just a few minutes later got a goal from Cal Erdmann with the helper from Tanner Booth. Finally, the Knights finished with two more goals with one coming from Ryan Jagielski and the other from Siebenga.
At the end of regulation the Knights came out victorious over the Eagles 8-1. The Knights outshot the Eagles 40-34 for the game.
Knights Goaltender Liam Austin finished the game with 33 saves.
