OCTOBER 29, 2022 — The Calvin ACHA Division 3 men's hockey team defeated the Trine Thunder 4-1 on Friday night in Angola, IN to improve to 5-2 on the season.

The first period was won by the Thunder as they scored one goal, while holding the Knights scoreless. The Knights committed 3 penalties in the first period. The game was 1-0 at the end of the first, in favor of the Thunder.

The Knights had a burst of scoring in the second period. The scoring spree started with Ethan Tulp finding the back of the net with 14:56 on the clock. He was joined by Myles Radersma, scoring with 2:55 on the clock, and Nolan Bailen, with 40 seconds remaining. The Thunder were held scoreless in the second period. The score to end the second was 3-1, in favor of the Knights.

The third period was hotly contested. The Knights scored the lone goal of the period, a quick strike by Myles Radersma, his second of the game, only 7 seconds into the period. The Knights survived 3 penalties and gave up no goals. The score at the end of the game was 4-1, with the Knights coming out on top.

The Thunder outshot the Knights 27-22. Liam Austin was in goal for the Knights and crucial to the Knights success in surviving 8 penalties. A solid team effort was key for the Knights. The Knights improved to 5-2 on the season.
