The Calvin University Knights ACHA D3 Hockey Team defeated the Davenport University Panthers 2-0 on Friday night.
In the first period both teams went end to end with solid scoring chances but neither team could break the ice. Both teams defensively held firm and kept eachother off the scoresheet.
At the end the first period the game was tied 0-0. The Knights outshot the Panthers 11-6.
In the second period the story of the game remained the same. No goals, good chances, and still stuck in a deadlock.
After the end of the second period the Knights and Panthers were still locked at 0-0. The Knights outshot the Panthers 18-12.
In the third period the Knights broke the ice with a goal from Zach Seaman with the assist from Tanner Dey. Just two minutes later the Knights found the back of the net again. This time the goal came from Dey with the assists from Matthew Brown and Joe Lugge.
At the end of regulation the Knights came out on top 2-0.
Knights Goaltender Garrett Walker finished with a 22 save shutout.
