The Calvin University Knights ACHA D1 Hockey Team defeated the Roosevelt University Lakers 4-2 on Saturday evening.

In the first period the Lakers struck first with a goal about halfway through the period. Around the six minute mark the Knights got the goal back and tied the game. The goal came from Ed Riordan with the assist from Justin Davis. 

After the first period the game was tied 1-1. Knights outshot the Lakers 14-8. 

In the second period the Knights found the only goal of the period which came at one minute remaining in the frame. The goal came from Michael Fatta. 

After the second period the Knights were leading 2-1. Knights outshot the Lakers 18-8. 

In the third period the Knights extended their lead around the fourteen minute mark with a goal from Justin Davis with the assist from Jacob Siebenga. Around the seven minute mark the Lakers got a goal back to cut the Knights lead down to one. Just two minutes later the Knights got the goal back. The goal came from Fatta once again. 

At the end of regulation the Knights came out victorious over the Lakers 4-2. Final shots were Calvin: 43 Roosevelt: 28.

Knights Goaltender Liam Austin had a strong game with 26 saves. 

COACH PETRUSMA: "Our game tonights was a much more complete effort than Friday night's game. The guys really responded to making adjustments neccessary to come out on top on Saturday night. I've got a lot of work to do but I like the direction that we are heading in."
