The Calvin University Knights ACHA D3 Hockey Team fell to the Hope College Dutchmen 3-1 on Friday night.

In first period the Dutchmen came out very strong and controlled most of the action. Opportunities on goal favored the Dutchmen by a wide margin in first but the Knights defense held strong and kept them off the board. 

At the end of the first period the game was tied 0-0. 

In the second period the Knights capitalized on an opportunity in front of goal. The goal came from Nolan Bailen with the assist from David Ensley. Just three minutes later the Dutchmen tied the game at 1-1. Then with nine minutes to go in the frame the Dutchmen took a 2-1 lead. 

At the end of the second period the Knights found themselves trailing 2-1. 

In the third period the Dutchmen sealed the game with another goal to bring their lead to 3-1. The Knights battled hard but could not find a way through the Dutchmen defense once again. 

The game concluded with the Knights falling short to the Dutchmen 3-1. The Knights were outshot 56-10 for the game. 

Knights Goaltender Garrett Walker had an amazing performance with 53 saves on the night.
