Knights Clipped by Chippewas 3-1

The Calvin University Knights ACHA D3 Hockey Team fell to the Central Michigan University Chippewas 3-1 on Saturday night.

After coming off of a tie to the Chippewas the night before the Knights looked to finish the weekend with a win. Unfortunately the Chippewas had other plans.

This was a hard fought battle on hte road for the Knights. Chances for both teams were equal and both goaltenders played well, very physical play throughout the game from the drop of the puck.

The game was knotted 1-1 entering the third period. The Chippewas went up 2-1 with about five minutes left in regulation. The Knights puuled their goaltender for an extra attacker and with about two minutes left in the frame the Knights gave up an empty net goal.

Overall it was a good battle on the road for the Knights against the #4 ranked Chippewas side.

Zach Seaman had the Knights only goal which came on the powerplay.

COACH HARTLEIN: "The boys are playing team hockey and working their tails off against tough competition. There is no quit in this group of players, they have a great attitude and work ethic."

The Knights return to action Friday, November 19th as they take on their rivals from Hope College at 7:30PM.
