The Calvin University Knights ACHA D3 Hockey Team tied the Central Michigan Chippewas 3-3 on Friday night.

The Knights looked to bounce back from their tough loss to GVSU last week going into this weekend. The Knights now ranked 11th looked to move up in the rankings as they hosted the #4 ranked Chippewas of Central Michigan.

In the first period the Chippewas struck first about six minutes in. Just a minute later the Knights got the goal back with a goal from Zach Seaman with the assist from Mitchell Niesar. The game continued to go back and forth for the rest of the period but neither team could find the back of the net again.

At the end of the first period the game was tied 1-1. The Knights were outshot 9-3. 

In the second period the Chippewas got the only goal in the frame which came around the twelve minute mark. 

At the end of the second period the Knights found themselves trailing 2-1. The Knights were outshot 9-6. 

In the third period the Knights came out flying. Within the first minute the Knights tied the game at 2-2 with a goal from Joe Lugge with the assist from Niesar. Just three minutes later the Knights took the lead with a goal from Jacob Waligora with the helper from Niesar once again. The Knights defense held firm until two minutes left to go when the Chippewas tied the game at 3-3. 

At the end of regulation the game was tied 3-3. The Knights outshot the Chippewas 13-8. 

In overtime both teams had good chances but neither team could finish the game off. The game ended with no shootout and a tie at 3-3. The Knights outshot the Chippewas 4-3. 

Knights Goaltender Garrett Walker had a strong game with 26 saves.

The Knights look to get a win on Saturday, Nov. 13th as they face off against the Chippewas again.
