The Calvin University Knights ACHA D3 Hockey Team defeated the Davenport University Panthers 2-1 on Friday night. 

The Knights looked to continue on the road of winning as they looked to extend to 3-0 on the season. Fortunately, for the Knights they came with the intent to do just that. 

In the first period the Knights came out strong putting the pressure on the Panthers defense early. Just five minutes into the opening frame the Knights found the back of the net with a goal from Jacob Waligora. The Knights continued to put the pressure on for the rest of the period but were unsuccessful in finding the back of the net once again. 

The first period concluded with the Knights leading 1-0. 

In the second period the Knights once again came out very strong and quickly had the Panthers on the back foot. About halfway through the frame the Knights added to their lead with a goal from Josh Wells with the assists from Ethan Tulp and Riley Austin. Unfortunately, the Panthers quickly got that goal back just two minutes later to cut the Knights lead down to one. The rest of the period continued to go back and forth but neither team could put another goal away. 

The second period concluded with the Knights leading 2-1.

In the third period the game started to die off as both teams were beginning to get tired. There were some good chances on both sides but neither team could find the back of the net. 

The game concluded with the Knights coming out victorious over the Panthers 2-1. 

Knights Goaltender Garrett Walker had a strong game with 25 saves.
