The Calvin University Knights ACHA D1 Hockey Team fell to the Western Michigan University Broncos 3-1 on Saturday night.

In the first period both teams came out fast and strong. The Knights got some strong chances early but could not find the back of the net. With about a minute to go the Broncos opened the scoring to take a one goal lead. 

The first period concluded with the Broncos leading the Knights 1-0. 

In the second period once again the Knights pressed the attack, but were again shut down by the Broncos defense. With under a minute to go in the frame the Broncos pushed the attack and found the back of the net to extend their lead to two. 

The second period concluded with the Broncos leading the Knights 2-0. 

In the third period the Knights got back in the game just four minutes into the frame with a goal from Jacob Siebenga with the assists from Will Houskamp and Jared Virtanen. Then with about five minutes to go in the period the Broncos sealed the game with their third goal of the night. 

The game concluded with the Broncos coming out victorious over the Knights 3-1. 

Knights Goaltender Darin Fox had a strong game with 33 saves. 

The Knights return to action February 14th as they face off against Oakland University.
