The Calvin University Knights ACHA D1 Hockey Team fell to the Toledo University Rockets 3-2 on Saturday night.

In the first period both teams went back and forth with good chances on goal for the first half of the frame. Around the seven minute mark the Rockets found the back of the net to open the scoring. The Knights pushed back hard but were shut down by the Rockets defense. 

The first period concluded with the Rockets leading the Knights 1-0. 

In the second period the Rockets tallied another goal just three minutes in. A minute later the Rockets found the back of the net again to extend their lead to 3-0. The Knights once again fought back but could not find the back of the net. 

The second period concluded with the Rockets leading 3-0. 

In the third period the Knights came out strong finding the back of the net just three minutes in. The goal came from Will Houskamp with the assists from Jared Virtanen and Jacob Siebenga. Five minutes later the Knights found the back of the net again. This time the goal came from Siebenga with the assists from Virtanen and Houskamp. The Knights fought hard for the rest of the game but could not find the equalizer. 

The game concluded with the Rockets coming out with the victory over the Knights 3-2. 

Knights Goaltender Josh Gruene finished the game with 28 saves.
