The Calvin Knights ACHA D1 Hockey Team fell to the University of Toledo 6-2 on Friday night.

The first period started out fast and strong for both the Kights and Rockets. Just a few minutes into the game the Knights found the back of the net with a goal from Keegan Weckesser with the assists from Jared Virtanen and Brandon VanOphem. Soon after the Knights first goal of the game, the Rockets struck back to tie the game at 1-1. The first period concluded with a score of 1-1. 

In the second period the Rockets found the back of the net three more times. The Knights struggled back into the game but could not find a way to score. The second period ended with the Rockets ahead 4-1. 

In the third period the Knights were able to fight back and find the back of the net with a goal from Cal Erdmann with the helpers coming from Jared Virtanen and Billy Oakes. The Knights fought hard but the Rockets found the back of the net once more with an empty net goal late in the period. The game finished with a score of 5-2. 

Knights goaltender Alex Gross played a strong game with 28 saves.
