Jacob Graham is set to begin his third year as the assistant head men's and women's track and field coach at Calvin University.
Last year, the women's track and field team was crowned MIAA Champions for both the indoor and outdoor seasons, while the men’s team placed second at both. Athletes directly coached by Graham achieved two MIAA championships, three MIAA runner up finishes, and scored a total of 165 points between the two meets in the high jump, long jump, triple jump, and javelin events.
In his first year at Calvin, Graham assisted the Knights women’s team to third place finishes at the MIAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships while the men's team took fourth both indoors and outdoors. The athletes directly coached by Graham produced two MIAA runner up finishes, four all conference finishes, and 11 conference scoring marks.
Graham also currently serves as the strength and conditioning coach for the men’s and women’s swim teams at Calvin. The men’s team finished last season with its third consecutive MIAA championship and an 11th-place finish at the NCAA Championships. The women’s side took second in the MIAA championships and finished 12th at the NCAA Championships. In his first season at Calvin, the men’s team placed seventh nationally (their highest finish in program history) and an MIAA conference championship. The women’s team finished second in the MIAA and 14th nationally.
Before joining the Knights, Graham was an assistant coach for both cross country and track and field at Willamette University in Salem Oregon from 2021-2023. During his time at George Fox, Graham assisted in developing two individual national champions, 19 All-Americans and 26 NWC champions.
Simultaneous to his time at George Fox, Graham served as the director of track and field and cross country at C.S. Lewis Academy, a private christian high school also located in Newberg. While at C.S. At the time he was hired the program consisted of two returning athletes. At the time of his departure, four years later, this had grown to 26 athletes, out of a total high school population of 29 students. Graham’s athletes at C.S. Lewis produced two runner up finishes at the OSAA state championships, 11 state championship qualifiers, seven individual district championships, and 37 school records.
