Coach Huizenga is entering his third season as the Head Coach of the ACHA D3 team after previously serving as an Assistant Coach on the D1 team for two seasons.  In his two seasons as Head Coach, he’s led the team to a 41-16-4 record including a back to back National Tournament appearances and a run to the national semi-finals in 2024.

As a student, Huizenga attended Grand Rapids Christian High School before playing four seasons of Junior hockey in the Northern States Hockey League (NSHL) and the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL).  He was recruited to attend Calvin University where he played four seasons for the Knights from 2016-2020 and served as a team captain for three seasons.  Huizenga graduated from Calvin with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
