Returning Student-Athletes
Instructions for completing your medical requirements and scheduling a medical review will be emailed to you over the summer.
Please know that we’re here and happy to help you! If you run into any issues or have questions, please contact your team’s athletic trainer and they would be happy to schedule a phone call or virtual meeting to walk you through the process.
Additional Documentation
You may need to submit additional documentation for certain medical conditions. If you had a serious injury requiring surgery in the past year or have an ongoing medical condition (i.e., asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, etc.), please submit a letter from your surgeon or managing physician that clears you for full participation or outlines any restrictions you may have.
Substances that are generally purported to be performance enhancing and/or potentially harmful to the health and safety of the student-athlete have been banned by the NCAA. This means that medications commonly prescribed by physicians for the treatment of ADHD and asthma, among others, are banned without a medical exception. For more information about medical exception procedures and documentation, go to: https://www.ncaa.org/sports/2015/1/23/medical-exceptions-procedures.aspx.
If you have questions about the status of your medications or medical exception procedures, please reach out to us and we’d be happy to review your situation with you.
If you have any questions or concerns about your need for additional documentation, please contact your team’s athletic trainer and they would be happy to help you figure out what is necessary for your specific situation.
