MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. – Calvin opened ACHA D3 Tournament play with a 5-1 pool play victory over Sacred Heart University Tuesday afternoon at the Centene Community Ice Center.
Calvin (18-6-3) broke open a 0-0 game with a pair of second period goals.
The Knights tallied three more times in the third period before Sacred Heart spoiled the Calvin shutout bid in the closing minutes of the contest.

Christopher Bebelos drawing assists on the play. After a strong penalty kill on defense, Calvin took a 2-0 lead on a Bebelos shot that found the back of the net 3:58 left in the period. Sophomore

Myles Radersma lit the lap to give Calvin a 3-0 lead just 3:10 into the third with Lambers picking up his second assist of the game. Ottsen then connected on another power-play goal off a feed from Radersma.

Gabriel Sova closed out the Calvin scoring with a goal off an assist from freshman
Cam Svboda with 10:04 left to play.
Sacred Heart scored its lone goal with 1:39 left on the clock.
Calvin held a 50-28 shots on goal advantage. Senior
Garrett Walker picked up the win in goal for the Knights with 27 saves.
COACHES COMMENT: "Very good game from our guys today," said Calvin head coach Austin Huizenga. "We had a game plan, and the team executed it. We look forward to some down time tonight to rest and recover before taking on a good Saint Vincent team tomorrow."
NEXT UP: Calvin will face Saint Vincent on Wednesday at 11 a.m. (CT) in its second of three pool play games.
