GRAND RAPIDS Mich.- The Calvin ACHA D3 hockey team defeated Northwood University 6-0 at home on Wednesday night. Calvin is now 10-0-1 on the season and ranked 5th in the
nation per the latest poll.

Nathan Sova scored the first goal of the game in the 9th minute of the 1st period on a power play. Bennett Eisma, and Josiah Lambers assisted. Myles Raadersma scored in the 15th minute of the period, while Nathan Sova and Oleg Grishatov had the assists. Nathan Sova scored his 2nd with 20 seconds left in the period. Henry Holleman and Myles Raadersma assisted.

Owen Hodel got the Knights going in the 2nd period scoring on a power play in the 11th minute. Nathan Sova and Josiah Lambers assisted. Cam Svboda followed up in the 12th minute with assists from Drew Klomparens, and Josiah Lambers with a hattrick on assists. Ian Schweigert scored the only goal of the 3rd period in the 8th minute, while Henry Holleman and Bennett Eisma assisted.

In goal for Calvin was Ryan Worosz, and for Northwood was Aidan Schultz. Calvin had 48 shots on goal while Northwood had 29.

COACHES COMMENT: Head coach Ausin Huizenga "I'm very happy with how we played tonight. This was one of our most complete games of the season. Northwood is a great team, and will have a long season. We're looking forward to our games this weekend at Adrian and a return trip to Northwood Saturday."
