GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.- The Calvin Knights hockey team won its second overtime game in a row against Ferris State University at home. The 6
th-ranked Knights won 5-4 in OT on Saturday to improve to 9-3-2 on the year.

Calvin was down 2-0 by the end of the 1st period. Ryan Bigler scored five minutes into the period for the Bulldogs unassisted. Trevor Vanvliet put Ferris in front 2-0 with 1:19 left to go in the period with the assist from Alec Newton. Calvin had 30 shots on goal in the 1st period while Ferris had 11.

Ryley Austin scored an unassisted early goal in the 2nd period for Calvin to bring the game back within 1. However Ferris scored twice more to go up 4-1 on Calvin midway through the 2nd period. The goals came from Trevor Vanvliet with his 2nd of the game and Alec Newton. Gabe Sova scored with 6:25 left to go in the Period to cut back into the Bulldogs lead. Calvin had 20 shots on goal in the period while Ferris had just 6.

Hayden Fernhout scored Calvin's 3rd goal of the game unassisted with 16:25 left to play in regulation. With just under five minutes to play in the 3rd period,
Ian Schweigert, with the help of
Riley Austin, scored to tie the game and send it to OT. Calvin outshot Ferris in the 3rd period with 17 shots on goal to Ferris' 3.

Myles Radersma scored the game winning goal for the Knights in the opening moments of overtime on a pass into the slot from Chris Bebelos to cap off a great weekend for the Knights and a great personal performance for himself. Calvin had a total of 69 shots on goal while Ferris had 20.
Ryan Worosz was in goal for the Knights while Oliver Mcdonald was in goal for the Bulldogs.
