MIDLAND Mich.- The Calvin ACHA Division 3 men's hockey team fell 3-1 to Northwood University on Saturday, October 21st on the road. The Knights are now 5-3 on the season.
 
Northwood scored the only goal of the 1st period with 5:40 left in the period. Thomas Kroll scored for the Timberwolves on a power play. Kroll was unassisted. Despite Calvin's 9 shots on goal in the 1st period they could not get the puck past Northwood goalie Adon Schultz.
 
Calvin equalized early in the 2nd period tying the game at 1 apiece. At the 17:36 minute mark Nick Leclair was assisted by Josiah Harsh. Northwood regained the lead with 9:40 left in the 2nd period when Ryan Zwick slipped it past Calvin goalie Cody Rhodes.
 
The Timberwolves went up 3-1 with just 4:32 left in the game. Milos Todocrovic scored off a pass from Nick Conenna. The Knights had 15 shots on goal and only let up 4 shots on goal against them in the 3rd period. Despite the volume of shots Calvin still could not score and lost 3-1.
 
COACHES COMMENT: Head Coach Austin Huizenga-" Northwood came out and they were hungry and wanted it more. They were ready to go from the drop of the puck. Kudos to Jordan (Jordan Cooper, Northwood head coach) for having them ready to go."
 
NEXT UP: The Knights take on Michigan State University on Friday October 27 at 7 PM. The game will be hosted by the Spartans in East Lansing.
