GRAND RAPIDS Mich.- The Calvin ACHA Division 3 men's hockey team won 6-0 on Friday, October 20th against Northwood University at home. The Knights are now 5-2 on the season.
 
The Knights scored just 48 seconds into the first period, when Sergey Yakunin was assisted by Owen Duiker and Tommy Postal. Calvin's second goal of the period was scored 6 minutes and 52 seconds in. Gabe Sova knocked it in and was assisted by Avery Andersona and Harry Ottsen. The Knights scored a 3rd goal in the 1st period when Owen Duiker lit the lamp at the 9:36 minute mark. He was assisted by Sergey Yakunin and Tommy Postal.
 
After taking a 3-goal lead in the 1st period the Knights slowed down in the 2nd. Chris Bebolos scored the only goal of the period 49 seconds in from Ian Schweigert and Joe Lugge.
 
The 3rd period remained well in Calvin's control. Keigan Obersky scored a pair of goals in the 3rd. The 1st was unassisted and the 2nd came from Brock Hearth while the Knights were on a power play to cap off a 6-0 Calvin win over Northwood.
 
COACHES COMMENT: Head Coach Austin Huizenga-"Got off to a great start against Northwood. I like how we hounded the pucks on the forecheck. That was a contribution to our game."
