"They ran strong and handled the conditions very well," said head cross country coach Brian Diemer. "They beat four teams that were ranked ahead of them. This was one of our better performances of the year, it's just that the region is big and pretty competitive. We're on the bubble for Nationals and are hoping for an at large bid. But I'm proud of our team for putting themselves in a position for an opportunity at Nationals."

When John Carroll head coach Kyle Basista was asked about his team's first place finish he had this to say; "It was really close race, we only won by one point. So I'm really proud of our entire team for fighting for every last position and we are very excited to compete at Nationals."

Evie Bultemeyer of Trine was the individual champion with a time of 20:58.
