Calvin Women's Cross Country Finishes Third at Vanderbilt Invitational

HOLLAND, Mich. – The Calvin women's Cross Country reserve team took third place at the Vanderbilt Invitational on Saturday morning. 

Claiming the team title was Hope College with a score of 21 followed by Cornerstone University in second with 44 and Calvin in third with 72. 

Crossing the finish line first for the Knights in 11th place overall was freshman Haley Weesies with a 5K time of 20:04.7. 

Close behind was a pack of Knights who took the 13th-15th place spots. Freshman Josian Aardema finished with a time of 20:42.4, followed by Junior Kelli Laube with a 21:03.4 and freshman Sienna Ruiter-Diaz recoded a 21:10.0.

Rounding out scoring for the Knights was freshman Lindsay Pederson with a time of 21:53.1. 

The Knights return to action next Saturday as they host the Knight Invite at the Gainey Athletic Complex. The gun goes off at 10 a.m. and the women's open race starts at 11:30 a.m.
