Calvin Volleyball Sweeps Past Adrian for Conference Road Win

ADRIAN, Mich. - Calvin remained unbeaten in MIAA play and hit the 20-win plateau in the process with a 25-13, 25-9, 25-11 win at Adrian Tuesday night.

Ranked second nationally, Calvin improves to 20-1 overall and 6-0 in league play.

Calvin has now hit the 20-win plateau 25 consecutive years.

The Knights hit .411 as a team and were led by senior Sarah DeVries (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northpointe Christian HS) who tallied 12 kills and nine assists while posting a .750 hitting percentage.

Sophomore Grace Kellogg (Belleville, Mich./Plymouth Christian Academy) had 10 kills and a .714 hitting percentage.

Sophomore Anna Schriemer (Vicksburg, Mich./Vicksburg HS) chalked up 18 assists and 10 digs. Sophomore Heidi Westra (Clarendon Hills, Il./Timothy Christian HS) and sophomore Kelsey Smith (Vienna, Va./Madison HS) had two service aces apiece. Smith also had three block assists.

COACHES COMMENT: "I thought we played very well and came out with focus and energy right from the start," said Calvin women's volleyball head coach Amber Warners.

NEXT UP: Calvin will host rival Hope Friday night at 6:30 p.m. in a non-conference game at Van Noord Arena.
