UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Erin Van Lenten participated in four events at the Saginaw Valley State Jet's Pizza Invitational on Friday afternoon. Van Lenten competed in a field filled with NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NAIA and Canadian schools.
A junior from Hawthorne, New Jersey, Van Lenten placed ninth in the pentathlon at 3006 points.
"I thought that Erin did a good job today," said head coach Bret Otte. "She went up against some really good competition today."
In the 60-meter hurdles, she placed 10th at 9.64.
She cleared 1.54 meters on the high jump.
Van Lenten placed 12th in the shot put with a throw of 8.70 meters.
In the long jump, she finished ninth in the long jump at 4.89 meters.
Her highest finish of the day came in the 800-meter run in sixth place at 2:39.07.
The Knights return to action on Saturday at the Grand Valley Mike Lints Alumni Meet.
