MARSHALL, Mich. - Calvin finished seventh in a field of 12 teams at the two-day, 36-hole Kyle Campbell Invitational hosted by Olivet at the Medalist Golf Club.
Calvin finished the 36-hole tournament with a final total of 695 strokes. The Knights fired a round of 346 on Friday and then came back with a score of 346 on Saturday.
Sophomore Emma Dykhouse (Byron Center, Mich./South Christian HS) led the way for Calvin with a round of 79 on Saturday after shooting 85 on Friday. Her tournament total of 164 strokes tied her for 12th place individually.
Junior Linnea McDonnough (Pentwater, Mich./Pentwater HS) had a two-day total of 178 (86-92) while sophomore Kaylee Hirschman (Grand Ledge, Mich./Grand Ledge HS) was right behind at 179 (88-91).
Competing individually, junior Amanda Scholten (Wyoming, Mich./Calvin Christian HS) had a 182 (94-88). Junior McKenna Smith (Bridgman, Mich./Bridgman HS) also competed individually and had a two-day total of 197 (99-98).
Saint Mary's took home first place as a team with a two-day total of 639 strokes (322-317).
Calvin returns to action on September 14 when it competes at the opening MIAA Jamboree with Alma serving as host at the Pine River Country Club.
