The Calvin women's golf team has been named the recipient of the 2018-19 WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Top 25 Award for Division III.
The award recognizes women's collegiate golf programs with the top 25 highest collective average team GPA in Division III women's golf. which includes all of the team's student-athletes for the 2018-19 season. Under the direction of head coach Jerry Bergsma, Calvin produced a cumulative team GPA of 3.615 which was good for 18th place out of more than 400 Division III institutions. Calvin was one of three MIAA teams to crack the the top 25 as Olivet finished 12th and Kalamazoo 25th.
"I am extremely proud of our team for achieving this award," said Bergsma. "It takes a team effort to perform at a high level on the course and in the classroom. This is the first time our program has received this honor and our team should be very proud of this accomplishment."
This past academic year, the Calvin women's golf team finished fourth in the 2018 MIAA Fall season standings to qualify for the MIAA Spring AQ Tournament. At the MIAA Spring AQ Tournament, the Knights took second place for its highest-ever finish at the tournament,
