Three members of the Calvin women's golf team have been named Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars.
Named to the WGCA All-American Scholar List from Calvin are sophomores Meredith Bult and Linnea McDonough and freshman Emma Dykhouse.
The Calvin trio is part of of 1,097 individuals nationwide to be so honored at the Division III level.
In order to receive the award, an individual must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above, be of high moral character and in good standing at the college making the nomination.
The student athlete must have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated (Division I and II only) or minimum of 12 rounds for Division III only.
Bult hails from West Chicago, Illinois. She is a graduate of Wheaton Academy. McDonnough is from Pentwater and is a graduate of Pentwater High School. Dykhouse hails from Byron Center and is a graduate of South Christian High School.
Bult, McDonnough and Dykhouse were part of a Calvin women's golf team that finished fourth in the 2018 MIAA Fall season standings to qualify for the MIAA Spring AQ Tournament. At the MIAA Spring AQ Tournament, the Knights took second place. Bult, McDonnough and Dykhouse were all part of Calvin's starting (five) lineup during the fall and spring seasons during the 2018-19 academic year.
"I am extremely proud of all three golfers for achieving this award," said Calvin women's golf coach Dr. Jerry Bergsma. "They have worked diligently both in the classroom and on the golf course and have helped encourage their teammates as well. We are already looking forward to the upcoming season."
Calvin is scheduled to kick off its 2019-20 season on August 30 when it competes at the Battle at the Border Challenge hosted by Carthage College.
