GRANGER, Ind. - The final day of competition at the MIAA Spring AQ Tournament was wiped away by snow showers.
The tournament was haulted as the teams began to make the turn for the back nine. Saturday's tournament was hosted by Saint Mary's at the Knollwood Golf Club.
Calvin finishes second in the final tournament standings - its highest-ever finish since the league moved to the four-team spring tournament format in 2009.
The Knights moved into the No. 2 spot in the spring tournament standings with a strong Friday finish, posting a team score of 345 strokes. Calvin finished in second place with a two-round total of 706. Hope was third (716), and Albion placed fourth (736).
As a result of the cancellation of the round, host Saint Mary's earned the MIAA's automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Championship Tournament in May since the Belles had the lowest 36-hole score (645) entering today's round
Calvin freshman Emma Dykhouse (Byron Center, Mich./South Christian HS) tied for seventh place in the final MIAA individual team standings with a 36-hole tournament total of 173 strokes.
The weekend competition marked the final collegiate appearances for Calvin seniors Nicole VanderYacht (Kentwood, Mich./South Christian HS) and Katy Hamilton (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Catholic Central HS).
