GRANGER, Ind. - Calvin had a strong showing at an MIAA Tournament hosted by Saint Mary's Saturday afternoon, placing third with a team score of 356 strokes.
Saturday's competition was held at the Knollwood Country Club. Host Saint Mary's took first on Saturday with a team score of 324 strokes.
With the finish, Calvin moves into fourth place in the MIAA overall fall standings, two strokes ahead of Olivet and four strokes ahead of Alma. The Knights trail third place Albion by seven strokes.
Calvin sophomore Linnea McDonnough (Pentwater, Mich./Pentwater HS) and freshman Emma Dykhouse (Byron Center, Mich./South Christian HS) led the Knights on Saturday with a rounds of 87 that tied them for 11th place individually.
Senior Nicole VanderYacht (Kentwood, Mich./South Christian HS) tied for 17th individually with a round of 88. Sophomore Meredith Bult (Wheaton, Il./Wheaton Academy) and freshman Kaylee Hirschman (Grand Ledge, Mich./Grand Ledge HS) had rounds of 94. Freshman Emme Darkowski (Brighton, Mich./Brighton HS) competed individually for the Knights and posted a score of 84.
Calvin returns to action on Tuesday at an MIAA Tournament hosted by Hope at the Ravines Golf Club.
