Calvin Women's Golf Takes Seventh at MIAA Fall Season Lid Lifter

MARSHALL, Mich. - Calvin took seventh at the opening MIAA Tournament of the year, posting a team score of 358 strokes Thursday afternoon at the Medalist Golf Club.

Calvin finished just two strokes out of sixth place, five strokes out of fifth place and nine strokes out of fourth in Thursday's competition.

Freshman Emma Dykhouse (Byron Center, Mich./South Christian HS) led Calvin with a round of 84 that tied her for 13th place individually. Sophomore Linnea McDonnough (Pentwater, Mich./Pentwater HS) had a 89 to rank second on the Calvin squad. Freshman Kaylee Hirschman (Grand Ledge, Mich./Grand Ledge HS) had a solid afternoon with a round of 90.

Senior Nicole VanderYacht (Kentwood, Mich./South Christian HS) and sophomore Meredith Bult (Wheaton, Il./Wheaton Academy HS) both had rounds of 95 to complete Calvin's scoring lineup.

Freshman Emme Darkowski (Brighton, Mich./Brighton HS) also competed for Calvin as an individual and carded a round of 93.

Calvin is back in action Friday and Saturday, competing at the MIAA/CCIW Challenge with Hope College scheduled to host at the Ravines Golf Club. Friday tee times are set for 2 p.m.
