Women's Golf In 7th Place Through Day One of MIAA Fall Tournament
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - The Calvin women's golf is tied for seventh place through day one of the 36-hole MIAA Fall Tournament at the Bedford Valley Country Club. 
Calvin fired a team score of 356 strokes on Friday, matching the seventh place score of Trine University.
Calvin finished six strokes behind sixth place Adrian. The Knights remain in sixth place in the MIAA overall team standings but are now just one stroke ahead of Adrian heading into the final 18-hole role Saturday morning at Bedford.
Junior Nicole VanderYacht (Kentwood, Mich./South Christian HS) tied for seventh place individually on Friday with a round of 80. Freshman Linnea McDonough (Pentwater, Mich./Pentwater HS) had a round of 85 that was good for a tie for 15th place.
Sophomore Jessica Zylstra (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northpointe Christian HS) had a 94, junior Katy Hamilton (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Catholic Central HS) a 97 and senior Gen Best (Brighton, Mich./Brighton HS) a 104. 
Saint Mary's took first place on Friday with a team score of 314 led by co-medalists Taylor and Hunter Kehoe who had rounds of 75. Saint Mary's now holds a 23 stroke lead over Hope for first place in the MIAA overall team standings.
The MIAA Fall Tournament concludes on Saturday with the final 18-hole round set to tee off at 9 a.m. at Bedford.
