Calvin Women's Golf Places Eighth at Second MIAA Jamboree
ANGOLA, Ind. - The Calvin women's golf team took eighth at the second MIAA Jamboree of the year, posting a team score of 371 Saturday afternoon at the Zollner Golf Club on the campus of Trine University.
Calvin finished 16 strokes behind seventh place Adrian but remains eight strokes ahead of the Bulldogs in the MIAA overall team standings.
Junior Nicole VanderYacht (Kentwood, Mich./South Christian HS) had Calvin's top score on Saturday with an 86 that tied for 14th place individually. 
Freshman Linnea McDonough (Pentwater, Mich./Pentwater HS) came up with a round of 92 followed by sophomore Jessica Zylstra (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northpointe Christian HS) with a round of 93.
Senior Gen Best (Brighton, Mich./Brighton HS) had a round of 100 while junior Katy Hamilton (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Rapids Catholic Central HS) had a score of 101.
Hope took first place on Saturday with a team score of 330. Brooke Symons of Adrian was the tournament medalist with a round of 76.
Calvin will host the next MIAA Jamboree, scheduled for next Wednesday at the Thornapple Pointe Golf Club with opening tee times set for 1:30 p.m.
