For the fourth time in her collegiate career, Calvin sophomore Gabby Timmer has been named the MIAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
A native of Caledonia and a graduate of South Christian High School, Timmer averaged 18.7 points and 9.3 rebounds a game while connecting on 61.1 percent (22 of 36) of her field goal attempts.
She was also credited with six assists and three steals as Calvin went 2-1 on the week. In a 69-51 win over Northwestern of Ohio on November 26, she scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
On Friday, she had 25 points and nine rebounds in a 71-53 win over Buena Vista. In an 84-70 loss to Simpson College on Saturday, she had 14 points and eight rebounds. She was subsequently named to the all-tournament team of the Simpson Thanksgiving Classic.
