Calvin Men's Cross Country Finishes Third at Vanderbilt Invitational

HOLLAND, Mich. – The Calvin men's Cross Country reserve team took third place at the Vanderbilt Invitational on Saturday morning.

Claiming the team title was Cornerstone University with a score of 20 followed by Hope College in second with 41 and Calvin in third with 52. 

Crossing the finish line first for the Knights was sophomore William Terpstra running an 8K time of 27:08.8. to finish in seventh place. 

Coming in next for the Knights at 14th place was sophomore Nathan Klaasen with a time of 27:49.2. 

A pack of four freshman Knights claimed the 17th-20th place spots. Derek Sall recorded a 28:27.4 followed by Clenon Fincher with a time of 28:50.4. Thomas Noble noted a 30:27.7 and rounding out scoring for the Knights was Jonathan Jansma with a 30:45.1. 

The Knights return to action next Saturday as they host the Knight Invite at the Gainey Athletic Complex. The gun goes off at 10:45 a.m. and the men's open race starts at 12:15 p.m.
