Calvin Men's Soccer Set to Host Adrian College

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Calvin men's soccer team will host Adrian College Saturday at 7 p.m. for a conference matchup.  

The Teams: The Bulldogs are 6-5-0 (3-0 in MIAA) on the season. The #3 ranked Knights bring an 11-1-0 record (3-0 in MIAA) into the match. 

The Coaches: Adrian is under the direction of Ryan McDonald who is entering his fifth overall season with the men's soccer program at Adrian College, and the 2018 campaign serves as his first as the Bulldogs head coach. McDonald graduated from the University of Louisville with a bachelor's degree in physical education where he played four years for the men's soccer team. McDonald has been an integral part of the historic milestones Adrian has seen over the past four seasons. As head coach he has compiled a won-loss record of 6-5-0.

Ryan Souders is in his seventh season with the Knights. Souders is a 2007 graduate of Wheaton College where he played four-years as a goalkeeper for the men's soccer team. During the past six years, Souders has led the Knights to five NCAA tournament appearances. Souders has totaled a record of 124-17-7 as head coach of the Knights.

The Players: For the Bulldogs, Adrian is led in scoring by Garrett Miller with three goals, two assists and eight points. Dayton Rush also leads the team with three goals and six points. For the Knights, senior Bobby McCaw and Jacob Witte lead Calvin in scoring with ten goals each, eight assists and 28 points (McCaw), four assists and 24 points (Witte).
