Calvin Men's Golf Takes Third on Day One of MIAA Fall Tournament - Closes Gaps in Overall League Standings

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Calvin men's golf team had a strong afternoon on day one of the MIAA Fall Tournament Friday at the Forest Akers Golf Club.

The Knights posted a third place team score of 302 strokes and in the process moved within four strokes of third place Kalamazoo.

Junior Sam Holland (Novi, Mich./Detroit Catholic Central HS) led Calvin with a round of 73 that was good for a tie for third place individually on Friday. Holland now sits in sixth place in the MIAA individual standings on the season.

Sophomore Kasen Anderson (Stillwater, Mn./St. Croix Preparatory HS) and freshman Jacob Siebenga (Surrey, B.C.) had rounds of 76 to tie for ninth individually. Junior Joshua Lansky (Park City, UT/Park City HS) was right behind with a 77 while senior Austin Umlauf (Lowell, Ind./Hanover Central HS) had an 83.

Trine took first place on Friday to increase its team lead in the overall league standings. Hope was second at 299 while Kalamazoo was fourth at 309, seven strokes behind Calvin.
