The Calvin ACHA Division III hockey team's fast start has received early national recognition. The Knights are ranked fifth in the latest ACHA Division III Top 25 poll.

Led by head coach Austin Huizenga, Calvin is currently 7-0-1 on the season after a weekend sweep of No. 14 Michigan State (ACHA D3). Calvin handed Michigan State a 3-0 defeat in East Lansing Friday night. Calvin then topped Michigan State 4-1 Saturday night in Grand Rapids.

The Knights are 5-0-1 against teams currently ranked in the ACHA Division III Top 25 poll, owning victories over current No. 12 Grand Valley State, No. 14 Michigan State and No. 13 Northwood.

Calvin will face Aquinas in a weekend series. Calvin will face Aquinas Friday night at 9 p.m. at Southside Ice Arena. On Saturday, Calvin will host the Saint at 7 p.m. at Eagles Ice Center.
