2018-19 Final Division III Learfield Directors Cup Standings

Calvin has finished 25th in the final 2018-19 NCAA III Learfield Directors' Cup standings with a total of 497.00 points.

Calvin has finished in the top-30 of the Learfield Directors' Cup standings 24 consecutive years. In addition, Calvin is one of only nine schools to finish in the top 40 of the Division III Directors' Cup standings every year since the competition begin with the 1995-96 academic year.

"It is great to be recognized on a national stage," said Calvin Director of Athletics Dr. Jim Timmer. "We are blessed at Calvin to have a wonderful athletics program and our entire campus can be proud of this accomplishment. One of our goals as an athletic department each year is to push for a top 25 finish in the final Directors' Cup standings. To achieve that goal feels very good."

Williams won the 2019-19 title as the best athletics program in the nation in Division III with a score of 1,117.0 points.

The Cup is presented annually by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and Learfield Sports to the best overall collegiate athletics programs in the country, and is based on points earned by teams that compete in NCAA Championship events.

Division III points are awarded based on finish in championship competition. Each national champion receives 100 points with a national runner-up finish worth 90 points. Third place is worth 80 points and fourth place finishes count for 75 points with a sliding point scale continuing on down by order of finish.

Calvin picked up 81.5 points during the spring sports season. The Calvin softball team advanced to the regional final of the NCAA III Tournament, while its women's outdoor track and field team was 40th at the NCAA III Championships.

Combined, nine of Calvin's 21 sports teams scored Directors' Cup points during the 2018-19 academic year.
