The 2019 Calvin Athletics Golf Outing was held on Monday at the Blythefield Country Club in Plainfield Township, just north of Grand Rapids.
The outing again featured a morning (four player team) 18-hole round and an afternoon 18-hole scramble. Nearly 40 teams and over 150 golfers participated in the event, making it once again large success.
"We are extremely grateful to our sponsor and to the individuals that participated in the 2019 Calvin Athletics Golf Outing," said Calvin Director of Athletics Dr. Jim Timmer. "The outing provides vital resources to our athletics program and allows our student-athletes to have a high-level athletics experience at Calvin. We are also very grateful to Blythefield Country Club for serving as the host site for our outing. We are blessed to have a great course to hold our outing at and we are already looking forward to next year's event."
The team of Josh Petrusma, Clark Klaasen, Eric Doezema and Max Sieplinga posted the lowest 18-hole score in the afternoon team scramble, carding a 16-under round of 56. The team of Kurt Wassink, Andy Byma, David Pluymert and Jeff Pluymert took second with a 12-under round of 60.
