Calvin's Anna Kamp and Sarah DeVries Named to Google Cloud Academic All-District Women's Volleyball Team

GOOGLE CLOUD ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAMS

Anna Kamp and Sarah DeVries have been named to the Google Cloud Division III Academic All-District 6 team in women's volleyball.

As members of the Google Cloud Academic All-District team, Kamp and DeVries advanced to the national ballot and are eligible for Google Cloud Academic All-America consideration.

Both players are receiving Google Cloud Academic All-District honors for the first time.

A senior outside hitter, Kamp is from Orland Park, Illinois. She is a graduate of Chicago Christian High School. She is a business major at Calvin with a concentration in human resources. She is a three-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and a six-time member of the Calvin Dean's List.

On the court, she has been a three-time first team AVCA Division III All-America selection. Earlier this month, she received the MIAA's Most Valuable Player award for the second straight year and landed a spot on the All-MIAA first team for a third straigth year. Last weekend she was named to the all-tournament team of an NCAA III Regional hosted by Calvin. She currently sits third on the Calvin career list for kills (1,610), trailing only older sisters Maggie Kamp (1,782) and Rebecca Kamp (1,868).

A junior setter/middle-hitter, DeVries is from Grand Rapids. She is a Grand Rapids Northpointe Christian High School graduate. DeVries is a nursing major at Calvin. She has been a two-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and a four-time member of the Calvin Dean's List. Last night, DeVries was named the AVCA Division III National Player of the Year. She is a two-time AVCA Division III All-American, receiving first team honors this year and second team accolades last year. Earlier this month, she was named the MIAA's Most Valuable Defensive Player and landed a spot on the All-MIAA first team for a second straight year. Earlier this year she was named the AVCA Division III National Player of the Week for her performances in victories over nationally-ranked Chicago and Hope. She was named MIAA Player of the Week twice and MIAA Specialty Player of the Week once. Last weekend she was named the Most Outstanding Player of an NCAA III Regional hosted by Calvin.

Calvin is currently 32-1 overall. The Knights defeated Aurora University in four sets this afternoon in a national quarterfinal match of the NCAA III Tournament in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Calvin will face Wisconsin-Eau Claire in a national semifinal Friday at 5 p.m.
