Calvin Volleyball Selected to Host NCAA III Regional Tournament

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Calvin has been selected to host an NCAA Division III volleyball regional tournament Nov. 8-10 inside Van Noord Arena.

Joining Calvin in the regional field will be Wittenberg (Oh.), Carthage (Wisc.), Hope, DePauw (Ind.), Wisconsin-Whitewater, Ohio Northern and Greenville (Il.).

Calvin (28-1) will open the tournament with a first round match against Greenville (23-10) at 8 p.m. Thursday night.

Thursday's action begins with Wittenberg (23-2) meeting Carthage (21-10) at 12:30 p.m. with Hope (25-7) facing DePauw (17-10) at 3 p.m. Wisconsin-Whitewater (24-7) will face Ohio Northern (22-7) at 5:30 p.m. with the Calvin/Greenville match to follow.

The Wittenberg/Carthage winner will face the Hope/DePauw winner in a regional semifinal match Friday at 5:30 p.m. The Wisconsin-Whitewater/Ohio Northern winner will face the Calvin/Greenville winner in Friday's second regional semifinal with a start time slated for 8 p.m.

The regional final is scheduled to take place Saturday night at 7 p.m.

Ticket prices are $6 for general admission, $4 for senior citizens, members of the military and students ($3 for Calvin students with an ID) and $3 for children ages two-to-12.

All sessions passes (good for all three days) will be $12 for adults, $10 for seniors citizens, members of the military and students and $7 for children ages two-to-12.

The Knights are making their 28th NCAA Tournament appearance and the 15th-straight appearance under current head coach Amber Warners.

The Knights are 55-26 all-time in the NCAA Division III Tournament, including a 41-11 record under head coach Dr. Amber Warners. The Maroon and Gold have won three NCAA Division III titles and reached the national semifinals last year.
