Calvin Women's Track & Field Finish Fourth at MIAA Championships

HOLLAND, Mich. – The Calvin women's Track and Field finished in fourth place in the MIAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Brewer Track. 

Winning the team title was Hope College with a score of 211.

Starting out with the 3,000 Meter Steeeplechase, Annie Needs won with a time of 11:29.39. Emma Schroer took third with an 11:47.91 and Breanna Kooiman finished sixth with a time of 12:08.13. Rounding out scoring was Brynne Winiarski with a time of 12:19.46.

In the 4x100 Meter Relay, the team of Stephanie Coors, Abbie Cooley, Sydney Houlemard and Renee Miller finished fourth recording a time of 50.79. 

Moving on the 1,500 meter run, Katherine Diekema placed second with a time of 4:37.47. Hattie Greydanus also picked up a few points finishing seventh with a 5:00.83. 

In the 100 Meter Hurdles, Miller took third place with a time of 15.97. Miller also competed in the 200 Meter Dash finishing seventh with a 26.59. 

Greydanus finished in sixth place in the 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:25.57. 

Calvin dominated in the 5,000 Meter run claiming three of the top four spots. Winning the race was Diekema with a time of 17:28.37. Sadie Heeringa finished in third place with a 17:45.11 followed by Michelle Koetje in fourth with a time of 17:51.10.

In the 4x400 Meter Relay, the team of Houlemard, Greydanus, Sarah Ball and Cooley with a time of 4:16.34. 

Winning the Javelin was Allison Rozell with a haul of 128-6. Rozell also finished in second place in the Triple Jump with a distance of 34-7.

Sarah DeVries tied for sixth place in the High Jump leaping to a height of 4-9.

The Knights return to action on Thursday as they head to Naperville, Ill. to compete at North Central.
