ORLANDO, Fla. – The Knights fell to Colorado College on Wednesday afternoon. The match was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but was postponed due to severe weather in central Florida. The Tigers came out on top 9-0 to send Calvin to 5-3 on the year.

"We faced a really good team today," said head coach Kevin Van Haitsma. "We will use today as a learning experience and we will use this to get better for the MIAA season, which we know will be tough again this year."

The Knights put up a fight at No. 1 doubles on Wednesday. The freshman duo of Leah Newhof (Caledonia, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) and Madeline Brouwer (Hudsonville, Mich./Hudsonville) fell to Allie Burak and Jenna McDonald, 8-6.

Sophomore Brittney Statema (Holland, Mich./Holland Christian) was the only Knight to take a set in singles play. Taking the first set from Madison Doerre, 6-3. Dorre won the match, 3-6, 6-0, 10-1.

Calvin returns to the court on Thursday to face Grinnell.
