GREENSBORO, N.C. - Calvin produced a pair of Honorable Mention All-America performances on day two of the NCAA III Swimming and Diving Championships.

Senior Anna Serino (Pinckney, Mich./Pinckney HS) took 15th in the 200 freestyle and also joined Calvin's 200 freestyle relay that placed 15th.

Combined the set of performances gives Calvin six points, placing the Knights tied for 30th in the team standings with two days of competition left.

Serino was the senior sparkplug on Thursday as she clocked a career-best time of 1:51.61 in the 200 freestyle prelims that gave her the 12th spot out of the prelims. She then took 15th in the evening final with a time of 1:52.05.

Calvin's 200 freestyle relay team of sophomore Hannah Chao (Farmington Hills, Mich./North Farmington HS), junior Emily Gunderson (Ann Arbor, Mich./Ann Arbor Huron HS) Serino and senior Alyssa Oezer (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) took 15th in 1:35.74.

Calvin's 400 medley relay competed in the morning prelims, taking 25th in a time of 4:01.31.

"I love the enthusiasm of our women's team," said Calvin head swim coach Dan Gelderloos. "They put on the blinders today, swam hard and got some evening swims. Anna had a gorgeous race in the 200 freestyle. It was her first evening swim at the national meet as an individual. To see her do that as a senior is just awesome. I am so proud of her."

Action begins with morning prelims at 10 a.m. with championship finals set for 6 p.m. on Friday.
