Calvin Women's Swimming and Diving Defeats Kalamazoo

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Calvin women's Swimming & Diving team defeated Kalamazoo College 183-117 in a conference meet on Saturday afternoon at Venema Aquatic Center. 

The Knights had a handful of top performances in the meet.  

Winning the 200 Yard Medley relay was the team of Emily Gunderson, Anna Kutschke, Valerie Edewaard and Hannah Chao with a time of 1:49.95/ 

In the 1000 Yard Free, Kendall Murphy hit the wall first with a time of 10:55.49. 

Along with the 200 Yard Medley Relay, Chao also won the 200 Yard Free in a time of 1:58.54. 

Grace Delcompare won the 200 Yard Fly swimming to a time of 2:16.19. Delcompare also won the 200 Yard IM with a 2:19.56. 

Winning the 50 Yard Free was Anna Serino who recorded a time of 25.07. Serino also went on to win the 500 Yard Free with a time of 5:18.68. 

In the 100 yard Fly, Anna Weber hit the wall first with a 1:00.32. 

Claiming first place in the 3 mtr Diving was Joselyn Smith with a score of 469.20. 

Closing out the meet winning the 400 Yard Free Relay was the team of Serino, Madelyn Smith, Alyssa Oezer and Emilia Shokoohi

Seven seniors were honored today for all their hard work and dedication the past four years as a Knight: Anna Serino, Madelyn Smith, Alyssa Oezer Kendall Murphy, Ka'lee Sparks, Daniella Sugijanto, and Kara Komarek

The Knights return to action on next Saturday as they take on Hope College at 1 p.m.
