Calvin's Joselyn Smith Named MIAA Women's Diver of the Week
For the first time in her collegiate career, Calvin College freshman Joselyn Smith has been named the MIAA Women's Diver of the Week.

A native of Zeeland and a graduate of Zeeland West High School, Smith had a standout set of performances this past weekend in dual meets against Wayne State and Olivet.

In Saturday's 206-69 dual meet victory over Olivet, Smith won the one-meter diving competition with a collegiate career-best score of 237.52.

She also placed second on the three-meter board with a score of 219.45.

In Friday's 146-97 loss to Division II Wayne State, she was fourth on the one-meter board (201.95) and sixth on the three-meter board (201.70).

"Joselyn had a great weekend of competition," said Calvin diving coach Aaron Paskvan. "She is a talented diver with a lot of potential. She is working hard and her hard work is starting to gain strong results. I am excited to see her recognized by the MIAA and I am excited to see her continue to improve."

Smith is part of a Calvin women's swimming and diving team that is currently ranked 17th in Division III by the College Swim Coaches Association of America.
