Calvin College junior Kelly Pepper has been named to the Division III Great Lakes All-Region second team by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association.
A native of Wyckoff, New Jersey, Pepper is receiving all-region honors for the first time in her collegiate career. A graduate of Indian Hills High School, Pepper recently concluded a standout junior campaign that saw her rack up a Calvin single-season record 94 points on the strength of 41 goals and 53 assists.
Her season total of 53 assists was also a new Calvin single-season record.
During the season she became Calvin's career record holder in assists and has a total of 88 career assists heading in her season campaign.
She is also ranked third on the Calvin career list in goals (124) and points (212).
Earlier this month, Pepper was named the MIAA's Most Outstanding Player as helped lead Calvin to its third MIAA regular season title in the last four years and its third consecutive MIAA Tournament title.
In the MIAA Tournament, Pepper produced four goals and five assists including a four-assist game against St. Mary's in the MIAA Tournament Championship final with the Knights winning by a 16-8 score.
"I am very proud of what Kelly has accomplished this year," said Calvin women's lacrosse coach Blake Boehm. "She has worked very hard and is well-deserving of this honor. This award reflects very highly on her play and our program."
Calvin concluded its season last Saturday with a second round NCAA III Tournament defeat at Denison University. It marked Calvin's third straight trip to the NCAA III Tournament.
